ABOUT US…
It is always difficult to describe what makes up a particular community of faith. Like any community, the uniqueness of Fairview is found in our people. We have different histories, different stories and different interests. We represent a variety of religious backgrounds. Some of us have no religious heritage at all. We are connected by a common desire to explore our faith in a place where we are accepted for who we are.
Here, we are encouraged to grow and stretch in the possibilities of what we might become as human beings, being shaped by God’s spirit. In everything, we are bound in the adventure of discovering what the Good News of Jesus Christ means not just in our personal and private lives, but also in public places where we live and work each day.
Fairview Baptist Church is a community that is rooted in the belief that we become more fully alive as we deepen our spiritual and relational lives. As a community of faith we wish to honour God through our worship and by welcoming all others to the good life we enjoy in Christ.
Our experience and hope flows from acknowledging Jesus as the standard for our lives. Having been brought to new life by God’s spirit living within us and having been immersed in the Church, we covenant with God and with one another:
